THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO CARING FOR YOUR CERAMIC COATED CAR

- USING THE TWO BUCKET WASH METHOD -

Maintaining a ceramic-coated vehicle should be simple. This guide breaks down exactly how to properly maintain and protect your coating using the right process and products.

You’ll learn the essential steps to keep your coating performing at its best — maintaining a clean, glossy, and well-protected finish.

Whether your car is daily-driven, weekend-driven, or freshly coated, this guide will show you how to keep it looking its best for years to come.

STEP 1

Pre-Rinse

Begin by rinsing the vehicle using a pressure washer or hose on a jet setting. Work from top to bottom to remove loose dirt, dust, and contaminants.

This step is critical in reducing the risk of scratches and swirl marks by removing abrasive particles before contact washing. Pay close attention to lower panels, wheel arches, and bumpers where grime builds up

STEP 2

Wheels & Tyres

Spray Envoke Reactive Wheel and Tyre Cleaner across the wheel face, spokes, and inner barrel. Apply a tyre or all-purpose cleaner to the sidewalls and allow it to dwell for 30–60 seconds. Do not let it dry.

Agitate using a soft brush for the face, a barrel brush for inner areas, and a smaller brush for tight sections like lug nuts. Scrub tyres with a stiff brush to remove dirt, browning, and old dressing. Rinse thoroughly.

Tip: Always clean wheels and tyres first to avoid transferring brake dust and grime onto paint. Keep wheel brushes separate from paint brushes.

STEP 3

Pre-Wash

Apply Envoke Snow Foam using a foam cannon or gun, covering the entire vehicle. The foam lifts and encapsulates remaining dirt and contaminants.

Allow it to dwell for several minutes, but do not let it dry. Rinse thoroughly from bottom to top to add an extra layer of safety before contact washing.

step 4

Two Bucket Wash

Prepare two buckets: one with water and Envoke Car Shampoo, and one rinse bucket with clean water (grit guards recommended).

Using a wash mitt, start from the top and work down. Wash in small sections, rinsing the mitt in the clean bucket before reloading with shampoo. Leave heavily soiled lower panels until last.

Rinse the vehicle thoroughly to remove all residue. The two-bucket method helps keep dirt away from the paint, reducing the risk of swirl marks and scratches.

Note: For heavier decontamination, use Envoke Reboot Shampoo. Safe on coatings, PPF, and wraps, and ideal as a monthly maintenance wash to keep protection performing at its best.

step 5

Touchless Drying

Use a Bigboi Blower or similar to remove water without touching the paint. Work from top to bottom, pushing water from panels, mirrors, grilles, and gaps.

This minimises the risk of water spots and scratching . Ensure hidden areas are fully dry to prevent drips later.

step 6

Final Drying & Finishing

If a blower isn’t available, use a high-quality drying towel with Envoke Ceramic Quick Detailer or detail spray. Lightly mist the towel (not the paint) and glide across panels in straight lines.

This method speeds up drying, prevents water spots, and leaves a clean, streak-free finish.

Note: Use sparingly — 1–2 sprays per section is enough. Less product gives a more even, streak-free result.

Step 7

Gloss Finishing

Even after drying, a final finishing step enhances gloss and removes any remaining water. Using your chosen detail spray, lightly mist a microfibre towel (not the paint) and work panel by panel.

Buff with a second dry towel, or flip to a clean side, for a clean, streak-free finish. Only a small amount of product is needed — 1–2 sprays per panel is enough.

This step enhances gloss, removes any residual moisture, and leaves a refined finish.

Note: Avoid spraying directly onto the paint to prevent streaking or uneven application.

For matte finishes, use a dedicated matte or PPF detail spray.

STEP 8

Glass Finishing

Use Envoke Ceramic Glass Cleaner for a streak-free finish.

Spray onto a dedicated glass microfibre towel (not directly onto the glass) and work one section at a time.

Follow with a second clean towel to remove any remaining residue.

Tip: Also apply to exterior mirrors for improved visibility in wet conditions. The formula adds a hydrophobic layer and is safe for tinted windows.

STEP 9

Tyres & Rims Finishing

Once tyres are dry, apply Envoke Ceramic Tyre Dressing using a foam or tyre applicator — not directly onto the tyre — to avoid overspray onto paint or rims.

Spread evenly across the tyre and sidewalls for consistent coverage. Apply a second coat if a deeper finish is desired.

RIMS FINISHING

Apply a detail spray using the same method as the paintwork — onto a microfibre towel, not directly onto the surface.

This adds a protective layer, improves gloss, and helps repel water and contaminants, making future cleaning easier.

Envoke Reboot Descaling Shampoo

Envoke Reboot Descaling Shampoo is designed to deep clean ceramic-coated surfaces, removing contamination that regular shampoos can’t.

It breaks down mineral deposits, salt, scale, and heavy road film — restoring gloss, slickness, and hydrophobic performance.

Used regularly, Reboot helps maintain your coating at its peak, keeping surfaces cleaner for longer and preserving long-term protection.

We recommend using Reboot once a month or every fourth wash. For vehicles exposed to harsher conditions — such as coastal environments, off-road use, or heavy contamination — more frequent use may be beneficial.

Suitable for coated vehicles, boats, and caravans.
